Pages, downloads and your library

Add or delete pages in blupdf, download as PDF, DOCX, JPG or PNG with optional compression, rename documents, and keep your document library in order.

The page rail on the left of the editor shows every page as a thumbnail. From there you add and delete pages; the Download button in the top bar turns the edited document into the file you need; the Documents page keeps everything you have opened or drafted.

The page rail

Click a thumbnail to jump to that page.

  • Add blank page appends a white page of the same size as the last page. Use it for an extra signature page, an addendum or a note: the Text and Signature tools work on it like on any page, and the download draws it with whatever you placed.
  • Delete page is the round trash on a thumbnail (on the page's corner on a phone). The page disappears and a toast offers Undo; take it and the page comes back with all its text. After the toast is gone the page stays deleted.

Reordering pages and merging or splitting documents are not in blupdf yet. To combine files, download the PDFs and merge them in another tool; to send part of a document, delete the pages you do not need and download.

Downloading

Download opens a dialog with the file name and the format:

FormatWhat you get
PDFThe edited document. New text is real, selectable text in the original or matched font; deleted text is gone from the file; signatures are image objects. Scanned pages come out rebuilt as real text.
DOCXAn editable Word copy of the document's text: every text block as a paragraph in reading order, with its size, weight, slant, color and alignment. It is a text copy, not a layout clone, and it leaves out pictures and signatures.
JPG, PNGPage images rendered from the edited PDF, so they show exactly what the PDF shows. One page saves as one image; a multi-page document saves as a zip of images.

Compress file size makes a smaller PDF at reduced image quality, useful for email limits on scanned documents. Downloads are free and unlimited, and nothing is watermarked on any plan, including Free.

Typing "download", "save as Word" or "export as PNG" into the blupdf AI box opens this dialog without an AI call and without credits.

Renaming a document

Click the title in the editor's top bar to rename it. The name is used for the downloaded file and on the Documents page.

Your library

Studio's Recent list shows the documents you touched last; Documents in the sidebar is the full library, with your AI drafts in their own section. Open any card to continue in the editor; every edit is already saved. Deleting a document opens a confirmation: the document and everything you edited in it are removed from your account, and this cannot be undone. Several documents can be deleted together.

Page and size limits per plan

Each plan sets a maximum number of pages and a maximum file size per document, checked when the file opens:

PlanPages per documentFile size
Free1010 MB
Starter5050 MB
Pro200150 MB
Business1,000500 MB

A file over the limit is refused before anything is charged. See pricing for plan details.

Credits

Adding and deleting pages, undo, renaming and every download format are free. The only charges on a document are the ones it has anyway: 50 credits per digital page or 80 per scanned page when it first opens, and 1 credit per character of new text. See Credits & billing.

  • Editing text - what happens to the text on the pages you keep.
  • Signing a PDF - a signature page is one Add blank page away.
