Refund Policy

Effective 2026-08-27 · Last updated 2026-08-27

This Refund Policy is part of the blupdf Terms of Service. It explains when we do and do not refund payments for subscriptions and credit packs, how to ask for a refund, and what happens when you cancel. We have written it to be predictable: purchases are final, and we make exceptions when the problem was ours.

1. Summary

All purchases made through blupdf — monthly subscriptions and one-time credit packs — are final and non-refundable. This includes:

  • unused plan credits at the end of a billing period;
  • unused top-up credits;
  • the remainder of a billing period after you cancel;
  • purchases made by mistake, including buying the wrong plan or buying a pack when you meant to subscribe;
  • dissatisfaction with the result of an edit, OCR run or AI feature that completed and produced output; and
  • changes in your needs after purchase.

Credits are a measure of prepaid usage; they have no cash value and cannot be converted back into money. Before you buy, you can try the Service with the free credits every account receives, and you can review the exact credit cost of every action on the pricing page.

2. When we do refund

We refund or re-credit when the problem is on our side. Specifically:

  • Duplicate charge. If you were charged more than once for the same billing period or the same credit pack, we refund the duplicate payment in full.
  • Credits not delivered. If you paid for a plan or pack and the credits did not appear in your wallet within 24 hours, we first add the missing credits; if we cannot, we refund the payment.
  • Verified service failure. If a blupdf action consumed credits but failed to produce usable output because of a defect or outage on our side — for example, an export that never completed or an OCR run that returned an error after being charged — we re-credit the credits consumed by the failed action. If a re-credit is not possible (for instance because your account has been closed), we refund the amount corresponding to those credits at the rate you paid.

These exceptions cover problems we caused. They do not cover output you dislike, results that were inaccurate because of the quality of the source document, or credits you spent on actions that completed as designed.

Refunds are made to the original payment method. We do not pay refunds in cash, to a different card or to a different account.

3. How to request a refund

Email support@blupdf.com within 14 days of the charge with:

  1. the email address on your blupdf account;
  2. the invoice or receipt number from the Stripe email you received; and
  3. a short description of what happened, including the document name and the approximate time if the request concerns a failed action.

We respond to refund requests within five business days. If we approve a refund, Stripe returns the money to your original payment method; depending on your bank, it can take five to ten business days to appear on your statement. Requests made more than 14 days after the charge are reviewed at our discretion.

4. Cancellations

You can cancel a subscription at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you keep your plan features and remaining plan credits until then, and you are not charged again. We do not pro-rate or refund the unused part of a billing period. Top-up credits remain in your account after cancellation and can still be used on the free plan, within the free plan's limits.

If you cancel because of a price increase we announced, and you cancel before the new price takes effect, the new price will never be charged to you.

5. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — most issues are resolved within a day. A chargeback filed with your bank without contacting us costs us a dispute fee whether or not it succeeds, and it may result in your account being suspended while we investigate. If a chargeback is decided in our favor, we may require the disputed amount to be paid before the account is restored.

6. EU and UK consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. Because the Service is digital content and a digital service that begins immediately, when you buy a plan or a credit pack you expressly request that we start providing it right away, and you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once performance has begun — that is, as soon as credits are added to your account. This acknowledgment is presented at checkout. It does not affect your statutory rights regarding services that are faulty or not as described, which remain available to you in addition to the exceptions described in section 2.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes apply to purchases made after the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page; the policy in force when you made a purchase applies to that purchase.
