Example: A 5-page scanned contract with 300 edited characters ≈ 5 × 80 (OCR) + 300 × 1 (text) + 5 × 20 (export) = 800 credits — about $1 on Starter.
Pricing questions
What is a credit?
A credit is the unit blupdf charges for work: pages processed, characters of new text rendered, AI calls and exports. Every plan includes a large pool, and you only spend credits on what you actually do.
Do unused credits roll over?
Monthly plan credits reset on each invoice and do not roll over. Top-up packs never expire while your account is active and are used after plan credits.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Every new account gets 1,000 credits with no card required — enough for real edits on several pages.
What happens when I run out?
Editing pauses and you can add a top-up pack or upgrade your plan. There is no overage billing and nothing is charged automatically.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, from Billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the current period. Purchases are final; see the Refund Policy for the exceptions when a problem is on our side.
Do you charge for opening a PDF?
Parsing a digital page costs 50 credits and OCR of a scanned page 80 credits, charged once per page when the document is prepared for editing. Rejected uploads cost nothing.
