Editing
Does blupdf keep the original font?
Yes. It reuses the font embedded in your PDF for anything you type, as long as that font contains the characters. When it does not, or when the font was never embedded, blupdf switches to the closest of its 35 library families and shows the name in the toolbar. See Editing text.
Will the layout move when I change text?
No. Your text re-wraps inside the block's own box, so the rest of the page stays where it is. Cells on the same row slide along to stay aligned, and a right-aligned amount grows to the left. A much longer replacement may need a slightly smaller size to fit its lines.
Can I add text where there was none?
Yes. Choose Text and click where it goes; the new block takes the font and size of the nearest text.
Can the AI do the editing for me?
Yes. Ask AI opens blupdf AI: "change the name to John Smith", "make the total $1,250.00", "make the heading bold". Changes land in the original font, totals are recomputed, and Undo all reverses a request. 100 credits per request. See Editing with blupdf AI.
Which file types can I open?
PDF, plus PNG, JPG and WebP images, which are wrapped into a PDF page. Free accounts open files up to 10 MB and 10 pages; paid plans go up to 500 MB and 1,000 pages. See pricing.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. Remove the password in the application that made the file, or through your PDF viewer's export options, then open it in blupdf.
Which formats can I download?
PDF, DOCX (an editable Word copy of the text), JPG and PNG (page images), with an option to compress the PDF. Downloads are free and never watermarked. See Pages & downloads.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in the phone's browser. The editor has a bottom bar with the tools, pinch zoom, and a text toolbar that docks above the keyboard while you type.
Scans
Can I edit a scanned PDF or a photo?
Yes. Scanned pages are recognised when you open them and rebuilt as real text, then edit like any other page. See Editing scanned PDFs with OCR.
Which languages does OCR support?
Printed text in most languages, Latin and non-Latin scripts alike. Mixed-language pages are fine; handwriting is recognised and flagged, and worth checking line by line.
Account & billing
Is blupdf free?
Every account starts with 1,000 free credits that never expire, and no card is needed. Paid plans start at $39 per month. See Credits & billing.
Can I pay before creating an account?
Yes. Choose a plan on the pricing page, pay, then sign in with Google; the plan attaches to the account you sign in with.
Can my team use one account?
Each person needs their own account. Pro and Business plans are sized for heavy individual use; write to us for team arrangements.
How do I cancel?
From Billing, at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period. Purchases are final except as described in the Refund Policy.
Privacy
Are my documents used to train AI?
No. Documents are processed only to perform the edits you request and are never used to train models, ours or our providers'. See Security & privacy.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a document from the Documents page to remove it immediately, or delete your account under Settings to remove everything, including files and saved signatures. Documents you keep are deleted 30 days after you last open them.
