AI find & replace across a whole PDF

Renaming a company, moving an address, shifting every date by a year — blupdf's find and replace PDF tool does it across every page in one run. Give it an exact pair or describe the change in plain language, review each proposed edit, apply, and the replacements are rendered in the original font, size and color.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload

Digital PDFs are parsed; scans are OCR'd so their text can be searched too.

  2. Step 2

    Describe what to replace

Exact: 'Acme Ltd.' → 'Acme GmbH'. Descriptive: 'change every 2025 delivery date to the same day in 2026'.

  3. Step 3

    Review every proposed change

A list shows page, block, old text and new text for each match. Tick, untick or edit any proposal. Nothing has changed yet.

  4. Step 4

Apply and export in the original font

Approved replacements are written into their blocks exactly as if you had retyped them. Each is an undo step. Export when you are done.

Why blupdf

  • Nothing changes without review

Proposals are a checklist, not an action. You decide per match.

  • Same font, same layout

Replacements use the block's font, size, color and alignment and re-wrap inside the original box.

  • Understands intent

Descriptive requests handle variations an exact search would miss — different date formats, line breaks inside a name.

  • Scans included

Recognized text on scanned pages is searchable and replaceable like digital text.

Frequently asked questions

What does a run cost?

200 credits per run plus 1 credit per character of the replacements you apply. Rejected proposals cost nothing beyond the run.

Can it replace text inside tables and headers?

Yes. Every block on every page is searched, including table cells, headers and footers.

What if a replacement is longer than the original?

It re-wraps inside the block's box like any edit. The preview shows the result; you can shorten the text or reduce the size by a fraction of a point.

Is this allowed on any document?

Only on documents you own or are authorized to change, for lawful purposes. Altering records with intent to mislead is prohibited by the Terms of Service.
