Fill PDF forms — with or without form fields

Some PDF forms have real fields; many are just a printed layout with blank lines. blupdf lets you fill PDF forms of both kinds: fields are detected and highlighted, and on flat forms you click where the answer belongs and type, with the text sized to the nearest label.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload the form

Interactive forms show their fields tinted. Flat and scanned forms are parsed (and OCR'd if needed) so labels are readable.

  2. Step 2

Click a field or any blank

Fields take your input directly. On a flat form, clicking a blank creates a text block that sits on the line.

  3. Step 3

    Type, tick, date

Tab between fields, toggle checkboxes, place check marks on flat forms, type dates as text.

  4. Step 4

    Export a flattened copy

Choose to keep fields editable for the next person, or flatten so nothing can change. Flat forms always export as fixed content.

Why blupdf

  • No 'this form is not fillable'

Flat forms — the majority in the wild — are filled by typing where the answer goes.

  • Fields respected

On interactive forms the field's own font, size, alignment and date format are used, so the result looks native.

  • Letter boxes handled

For one-character-per-box forms, letter spacing spreads your text across the boxes.

  • Sign in the same pass

Add a signature and initials with the signature tool, then export once.

Frequently asked questions

Will the recipient see my answers in their PDF viewer?

Yes. On interactive forms the values are written into the fields; on flat forms they are page text. Flattened exports look identical in every viewer.

Can I fill a scanned form?

Yes. The scan goes through OCR so labels are readable, then you type where the answers belong and blupdf matches the size of the surrounding print.

What does form filling cost?

25 credits per page with at least one filled field or added block, plus 1 credit per character on flat forms, and 20 credits per exported page. Scanned pages add the one-time 80-credit OCR charge.

Can I clear a field and start over?

Yes. Fields can be cleared, and blocks you added on flat forms can be edited or deleted like any text block.
